Gio’s journey began with a challenging start. Born prematurely, he spent three critical months in the NICU. Diagnosed with hydrocephalus and later, cerebral palsy, he faced challenges which made moving, eating, and reaching milestones more difficult. But Gio is a fighter.
Today, he holds himself up with support, moves around with a gait trainer, and feeds himself — each milestone he’s reached in his two years of life are a powerful reminder of what children can achieve with the right support.
His mother, Tyneisha, recalls the search that led her to Jubilee JumpStart,
"I was looking for someone not to give my son ‘special care’ because of his physical disability, but to care for him specially.”
Here, Gio receives personalized education and care, coordinated early intervention services, and daily encouragement. His curiosity lights up every room he enters. He plays alongside children from all backgrounds, sings along with Ms. Alexus, and builds skills that help him grow stronger and more independent.
Tyneisha’s story is one of growth, too: after dedicating herself to Gio’s care and the search for a diagnosis, she is now back at work and pursuing her high school diploma. "I’m looking forward to a brand-new start for the new year,” she says.
“I’m hoping for Gio to make even more progress with his walking and communication skills, and for my family to stay focused and strong.”
At Jubilee JumpStart, we witness the power of our community every day. That’s why we believe that all children should have access to high-quality early learning and compassionate care. From first words to first steps, every child’s progress is a victory for all of us. This is what community looks like — families supporting each other, celebrating every win, and growing stronger together.
